So, last night was my first Photography competition. It was in the Non-Advanced section of the Dundalk Photography Society, which is a club I joined last week, spurred on by my friend Enda. I put a lot of effort into it and had some ups and downs. I learned more about photography in this week than I did in the last two months since I got my camera. I am so glad I entered it and pushed through all the moments where I felt I should just give up. I could have made any number of really “valid” excuses to 1, not join the club in the first place, or 2, not enter the competition. I am glad I pushed through.
And in the end I actually did decently enough. My lowest score was 16, I got three 17s, an 18 and a 19 – which may sound better when I tell you that the photos are marked out of 20
Here’s a video where I talk through my thoughts on each of the photos as well as some of the photos I rejected:
And here’s the latest Vlog where I talk all about it:
The full scores as follows:
Silence – 19

Tommie Kelly is an Artist and Writer, but not always in that order. He has published a number of Comics, some of which are about music, though they're all mostly about magic in some way. Tommie believes creating art is the biggest magickal act there is and is firmly in agreement with Alan Moore that Art=Magic.
He also created the Forty Servants.
