Getting Advice from a Future You

I am sure if you have been hanging out with the Occult community for any length of time you would have come across the phrase: “Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel”* and possibly the Abramelin** operation that is purported to enable this.

There are many, many views on what the HGA is, and many alternative names – Deamon being a frequently used one. My understanding of the HGA, and the model I use, is that it is you, but the completed you. It’s the you when you have learned all your lessons, when you have everything worked out, when you have achieved enlightenment, when you have experienced all you have to experience, when you know all the things, – it’s the perfected you. Its you when you have gotten past all the bullshit, maya and illusions, and know yourself as you truly are.

Clearing Your Personal Orbit

So, it has been awhile since I wrote a proper blog post and for that I apologise, but in my defence I did complete and release The Forty Servants so I wasn’t just sitting around twiddling my thumbs or just hanging out in Facebook, as much as appearances might suggest otherwise. For those interested in the Magick Primer series, the next part is about 75% written and it is on the topic of Servitors. Look out for that in the next week or so.

But onward to this blog post.

Resistance is Futile

I have a very rocky relationship with my understanding of the spiritual ideas of “surrender” and “letting go” in regard to what they actually mean in a practical day to day way. I have talked before about how, to me, it often seems that in taking particular (mostly bastardised) Buddhist ideas to their conclusions, it would lead you to the suggestion that the best thing is to”just give up”.

How exactly do you Meditate?

After the previous post I got a few messages asking me to explain exactly what my meditation practice is at the minute. I am no expert, so take all of the following information in the spirit it is offered. This is what I do and it seems to be working well for me. Hopefully it could work for you too.

The meditation I am doing now has a few elements to it, which either I do on different days or split my daily meditation time up into each part.  I’ll break it down and explain each part.

Meditation.
My Meditation practice is going really well at the minute. I have gone from totally hating it, to really looking forward to it. The ten minutes a day I started off with 7 or 8 months ago (which was such a chore and demanded so much effort to actually force myself to do)  has transformed into a wanting to Meditate for 40 minutes or more – even twice a day on some days. I was using the Headspace program but after going through their Three Foundation series I wanted to branch off into my own way for awhile. I probably will come back to Headspace as they have some great other courses that seem like they would be of huge benefit.

Just thought I should put some sort of text post within the art and weekly posts to remind everyone, particularly myself, that this is, in fact an actual blog. I will be getting back to the THEM as Hypersigil posts – there are two remaining in that series, but I want to leave a bit of a gap between the first two and the last two so that there is a bit of space between the posts.
