My Daily Magick Ritual Practice

Daily Magick Ritual Practice

[Update: I no longer do this as a Daily Practice but use it, or elements from it, as needed]

The following is what currently serves as my Daily Magick Ritual Practice and usually leads into my meditation practice. The entire Ritual takes about 30 Minutes or so (longer if Sigils or requests are included). Although most of it I know my heart now, I have it all printed out and bound into a small black covered booklet and I read from it as I go along.

The Ritual is mostly geared towards offerings and prayers for Spirits and the Dead and works (mostly) from the Greater to the Individual, or the Macrocosm to the Microcosm. The Hierarchy is not exactly perfect and it shouldn’t be. In the end all things are to be treated equally and given equal attention but I found it helpful to have some sort of organised structure to the ritual

Of course, this is tailored to suit me and while I have given some suggestions within the text for you to adapt it for yourself, you might find it more useful to start your own Daily Practice from scratch.

All Offerings are either Tea-Lite Candles or Spring Water.

Repeat Hekas, Hekas Este Bebeloi (this is a phrase taken from the ancient Eleusinian Mysteries. It is a form of exorcism, pushing away anything not spiritual. It means, “Far, far be removed the profane.”) as you sweep your right hand out from your body blowing all negativity away from you for miles and miles. Repeat as you move around in a circle and the above and below. This creates an empty space for you to start to work it. Also great for clearing the mind and for putting your Brain in the right mood and gear for the Ritual ahead.

Of course, you could use any Banishing Ritual here such as the the LBRP, THE STAR RUBY or indeed even my LBRP Alterantive –The Roman Banishing Ritual.

The primary purpose of anointing with the holy anointing oil is to cause the anointed persons or objects to become qodesh, or “most holy” (Exodus 30:29).

Anoint the head with The Holy Oil of your choice. I currently use one of the Variations of Abramelin Oil, but you can research and find one that suits you best. For example. In Exodus, Moses is told to make a very special “holy anointing oil” of “the finest of spices”, including “flowing (liquid) myrrh”, “sweet-smelling cinnamon”, “fragrant cane”, “cassia”, and “olive oil”.

Traditionally, every Hindu religious and auspicious function began with worship of Lord Ganesh.  I’m a huge fan of the Great Obstacle remover and Ganapathi gets his own separate altar in my workspace. I also have Ganesha statues all over the house. It seems extremely fitting to begin with him.

Light Incense (Sandlawood is good) to Ganesha. Then, in front of his Image or statue chant the following mantras. I do this forcefully and mono-tonally with a sort of tight rhythm. Youtube some chanting and you’ll get the idea.

Om Shreeng Hreeng Kleeng Glaung Gang Ganapataye Var Varad Sarva Janmay Vashmanay Svaha.
(This mantra is incanted to request Lord Ganesha to shower blessings, prosperity and success and to remove all obstacles that lie in one’s way. He is being thanked and praised for his divinity and blessings in one’s life.)

Vakra-Tunndda Maha-Kaaya Surya-Kotti Samaprabha Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva-Kaaryeshu Sarvadaa
(Oh one with a majestic trunk, a massive form and the radiance of a million suns, I pray to you to remove the obstacles from all my endeavours, always.)

Om Namoh Siddhi Vinayakaya Sarva kaarya kartreya; Sarva vighna prashamnay Sarvarjaya Vashyakarnaya; Sarvajana Sarvastri Purush Aakarshanaya Shreeng Om Swaha
(This mantra also called as Siddhi Vinayaka Mantra prays to Ganesha as the god of fulfillment and spiritual enlightenment. This mantra praises and invokes this power to attain prosperity, social status, peace, and materialistic happiness in life.)

Then repeat this Mantra for a Minimum of 108 times. I use Japa/Mala beads. If you don’t have them use your fingers!

Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha

(I have seen a few versions of what this actually means, but I like this one best: Evoking everything that exists, specifically the deepest transformative vibratory potency of consciousness, called Ganesha. I bow down.)

Daily Magick Ritual

The Headless Rite

The is taken from Hans Dieter Betz’s The Greek Magical Papyri in Translation vol. 1. (P. 103). I changed it slightly as the original is an exorcism to be done on another person, while this version is to be done for yourself. I suggest also reading what Gordon White says and suggests about this Rite in The Chaos Protocols, as I find his additions such as the orientation towards Orion, to be very helpful. The PGM says to face north, the direction of the immortal Northern Stars, but some sources say to face east, the direction of the rising Sun. I personally start in the North and then move to face Orion, as White suggests.

Preparation for the foregoing ritual:
Write the formula AŌTH ABRAŌTH BASYM ISAK SABAŌTH IAŌ, on a new sheet of papyrus (or fancy paper – I used Gold Pen on Black card), and after extending it from one of your temples to the other, read the six names, while you face the North saying:

Subject to me all daimons, so that every daimon, whether heavenly or aerial or earthly or subterranean or terrestrial or aquatic, might be obedient to me and every enchantment and scourge which is from God.

(And all Daimons will be obedient to you.)At this point turn to face Orion, if that’s what you choose to do.

I summon you, Headless One, who created earth and heaven, who created night and day, you who created the Light and the Darkness; you are Osonnophris whom none has ever seen; you are Iabas; you are Iapos; you have distinguished the just from the unjust; you have made female and male; you have revealed seed and fruits; you have made men love each other and hate each other.
I am Moses your prophet to whom you have transmitted your mysteries celebrated by Israel; you have revealed the moist and the dry and all nourishment; hear me.(Note: Some say you should change Moses to your own Magickal name and Isreal to whatever is appropriate. Crowley changed it to a more Horus flavour in his version in Liber Sameck too. Make your own decision)

I am the messenger of Pharoah Osoronnophris; this is your true name which has been transmitted to the prophets of Israel.

Hear me,

I call upon you, awesome and invisible god with an empty spirit, AROGOGOROBRAŌ SOCHOU MODORIŌ PHALARCHAŌ OOO.

Holy Headless One, deliver me from the daimon that restrains me,

Mighty Headless One, deliver me from the daimons which restrains me. MABARRAIŌ IOĒL KOTHA ATHORĒBALŌ ABRAŌTH,

Deliver me,

He is the Lord of the Gods; he is the Lord of the Inhabited World; he is the one whom the winds fear; he is the one who made all things by command of his voice.
Lord, King, Master, Helper, save the soul,

Immediately, immediately, good messenger of God

I am the Headless Daimon with sight in my feet; I am the mighty one who possesses the immortal fire; I am the truth who hates the fact that unjust deeds are done in the world; I am the one who makes the lightning flash and the thunder roll; I am the one whose sweat falls upon the earth as rain so that it can inseminate it; I am the one whose mouth burns completely; I am the one who begets and destroys; I am the Favor of the Aion; my name is a Heart Encircled by a Serpent; Come Forth and Follow.

At this point I currently call in The Four Kings of The Earth as Outlined in The Chaos Protocols, but there are a number of things that would fit here. Simply Calling in the Elements (North=Earth, East=Air, South=Fire, West=Water) The Invocation of the Four Gates from the World Between the Spheres from the Simon Necronomicon is also worth using and I have done on numerous occasions. (I give it in a previous post here). Find something that you like that involves calling in the directions, in fact try a few before you settle on one.

For more on the Four Kings, look here.

Currently I am working with St. Cyprian and The Morrigan as my Male and Female representations of The Lord And The Lady. You will have your own tastes and preferences in this depending on your location, your style of magick and what your goals are.

I light Candles in front of the images of the Spirits and say prayers. The St Cyprian prayer I got from Jason Miller.

In the name of the great and mighty power of God I invoke the sublime influence of St. Cyprian, in Christ Jesus. I ask that you be my mentor and my master by virtue of the grace bestowed upon you by God omnipotent who was, who is, and who will ever be.

You learned to control storms on Mt Olympus, the casting of enchantment and illusion in Argos, the mysteries of the witches craft at Taurapolis, necromancy among the graves of Sparta, and incantations in Memphis. Finally in Antioch, drawn by power, you found grace of Christ.

Oh Holy Cyprian, you who equally partakes of the Mass and the Sabbat, bless my efforts to follow you in your path. You who commingled with angels, devils, and earthly spirits, grant the power to command the spirits as you did, and as Solomon and Manasses did before you.

I thank you Lord for the many gifts of nature and grace with which you enriched the spiritual treasure house of your most faithful servant St. Cyprian. I thank you, my protector, for the special favors I have received by your powerful intercession.

Oh Cyprian Holy Thaumaturge : Saint and Sorcerer, Martyr and Magus, bless me. Take my prayers and spells and make them your own. When the Lord hears them he will not ignore them, they will cease to be my words, but yours.

Prayer to The Morrigan
(By Rynn Fox, August 2012)

Great Queen, The Morrigan
Hear me, I am your Priest and your Warrior,
Protect me from harm, be it by intent or by ignorance,
In the face of life’s trials and joys,
May I be ever steady: calm in mind, body, and emotion,
May I be centered, present, embodied,
My mind like water, clinging to no thing and untroubled,
May I act decisively, truth and wisdom as my guideposts,
May my actions and words move from a place of honor, wisdom, compassion, and love,
May I know when to cut, and when to be cut
Clothe me in guile and cunning;
That I may move with suppleness and resiliency between the worlds.

If am are going to charge Sigils or something Similar, this is the point I would do that at.

Prayers for the DeadPRAYERS FOR THE DEAD

I start with all the souls and then work my way down to individual people. Again this is my attempt to work from a top to bottom level. The prayers are either written by me (I wrote the Mighty Dead prayer to reflect the Dead that worked most closely to what I do, edit to fit your interest or line of work) or adapted from standard prayers. I’m not Christian, but I assume that most of my ancestor were, and as these prayers are for them and not me, it seems more correct to use God names and ideas that they would associate with. Again, change as you see fit.

Incline Thine ear, O Lord, unto my prayers,
wherein I humbly pray Thee to show Thy mercy
upon the soul of All Thy servants,
whom Thou hast commanded to pass out of this world.
That Thou wouldst place them in the region of peace and light,
and bid them be a partaker with Thy Saints.

I pray for all the Artist, Writers, Musicians,
Patrons of the arts, Philosophers, Architects,  Leaders,
Dancers, Athletes, Explorers, Thinkers, Healers,
and all the Mighty Dead that have passed from this world into the next.
May they be pleased, content, happy and at peace.
May their great works be known and praised,
and Acknowledge, as so rightly deserved.
The world is better for them having once been part of it,
And long may their influence be felt and enjoyed.

I Hear the lament of the imprisoned soul,
Abandoned in this obscure dwelling.
O Soul, the most abandoned and alone in all of purgatory!
I hear you in your grief, And I have pity on seeing you suffer and moan.
I sense your abandonment to this harsh and long imprisonment,
And I desire to lessen your pain; I offer you all my meritorious works,
And all that I have suffered, suffer, and will suffer in this life,
So that you can pay for your sins before God,
And achieve His grace and find peace.

Dear souls of the dead, I still remember you;
you are most worthy of my perpetual remembrance.
Especially you, my Grandparents, My Uncles,
My Aunts, My Cousins and My Friends,
(Say Names of the Dead who have been known to you)
and everyone whom death took away from our home.
I invite you to take this offering
(Light candle or pour water)
and pray that this is agreeable to you,
just like the memory of you is to me.

All-powerful and merciful God,
we commend to you N., your servant.
In your mercy and love,
blot out the sins he/she has committed
through human weakness.
In this world he/she has died:
let him/her live with you forever,
in peace and happiness,
(Through Christ our Lord),

Conclude with:
Eternal rest grant unto all of them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon each of them.
May the souls of the departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

At this point I wrote a prayer for myself and the beings closest to me. I took the idea of my life being a Microcosm of the totality of things and then ask for the Macrocosm to look favourably upon us. I really like this sentiment. Edit as necessary.

May the great Macrocosm of this Universe bless my Microcosm,
May it look favorably upon My Wife, My family, My Animals and my Friends.
Please be kind and send us your blessings,
Great Macrocosm, Keep us safe, Keep us protected,
Help us learn to become much more than what we are,
Show us how to enjoy and not endure,
and lead us to the roads of joy and prosperity.
May all be Well!

(adapted from a Reddit post here)

Let all be blessed beyond measure
Let all be enfolded in pleasure
Conflicts resolved, All will grow
Depression is banished, peace they will know.
Let the weary rest and find the help they need
Filled with endless love as these words I read
Negativity overturned as they do their best
All magic will abound, flow, and manifest.

If requests are to be made, then make them at this point in your own words and as honest and heartfelt as possible.

Let all be in peace, love and happiness. Let all be well.

And that’s my Current Daily Magick Ritual Practice. I am sure it will develop and adapt over time, as it should. I’d be interested to hear about your Daily Magick Practice, so make sure to leave a comment below about it or leave a message on Facebook.
